Mission
Statement
To empower communities of the City of Atlanta to beautify and sustain
their environment.
Function
Keep Atlanta Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc.,
serves the citizens of Atlanta by developing and implementing effective
public education and community improvement programs which enhance the
quality of life and economic development of the community by instilling
pride and positive attitude and behavior change regarding natural resource
conservation, littering, recycling and beautification.

Information
Keep Atlanta Beautiful, formerly Atlanta Clean City Commission, was
created in 1976 under Mayor Maynard Jackson's administration to tackle
the issues of litter prevention and environmental awareness on a citywide
basis.
Keep Atlanta
Beautiful is governed by a 27 member Board representing business and
professional groups, trade unions, educational groups, civic clubs,
the Chamber of Commerce, other groups and the general public. The Board
of Directors sets policy, recommends specific programs for committee,
and actively participates in the implementation of various programs
and projects to achieve Keep Atlanta Beautiful's mission.
