The Bureau of Buildings' main function is to assist property owners in keeping their buildings within the standards of the City's code compliance. The Bureau Coordinates the permit approval process through reviewing the plans and maintaining all approved building permits, impact fees and related information. It is responsible for inspections through the following Divisions:
Building
InspectionThe Building Inspection Division inspects all building permits for compliance as well as handling complaints and liquor licensing inspections. This Division also issues Certificates of Occupancy. For more information, please contact the Bureau at (404) 330-6160.

The HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning) Division inspects all HVAC gas and new elevator permits for code compliance. This Division also performs two annual elevator inspections and gas authorizations. For more information, please contact the Bureau at (404) 330-6265.
The Plumbing Division inspects all plumbing permits (and sprinkler permits) for code compliance. This Division also handles complaints and sewer tap approvals. For more information, please contact the Bureau at: (404) 330-6170.
The Zoning Division inspects all sign permits for code compliance and approves all building permits for zoning compliance. This Division also handles all zoning complaints, research, verification, business license approvals and zoning on all liquor license approvals.
